Congratulations Ben and Kristyn!
Here, in her own words, is Kristyn's message to the family.
It tells the story of a night to remember, on the beach at Corona del Mar.
Dateline: Saturday Night, November 14, 1998 Hi you all, Last night Ben took me out on a fun date. We went out to the beach at Corona del Mar and Ben had a picnic made up. He had candles, White Zinfandel, sandwiches, chinese food, and chocolate covered strawberries. After a nice, slow, relaxed dinner, he pulled out a fortune cookie. I opened it up to read my fortune, and read "Will you marry me?" I looked at him and said "Hey, look what it says, isn't that funny?" He laughed at me and I realized the reality of the question. He handed me the other half of the cookie and I found a ring inside. I was in total shock and didn't know how to respond; Laugh? cry? I just gave him a big hug and said that of course I would. Still in shock at this moment all I can do is look at the beautiful ring on my finger. I wish I could be with all of you right now to tell you the story, but I guess Thanksgiving will have to do. All I can say is I now have a fiance, that is so weird to say. By the way, my best friend Annie Hatchel (remember her?) got engaged about an hour after I did. I called her to tell her the news to hear her blurt out "I'm getting married!" Crazy, huh? Anyways, it's 1:15 am, and I probably won't be able to sleep, but should try.
