Update - Friday September 30

Carolyn and I spent the afternoon in Oak Glen.  We walked in the orchards and tall trees with Barney, ate a tri-tip sandwich and bought some apples.  On the way home we stopped by to see the boys.  Here are some photos.  Our personal favorite is Kenny holding a green tractor, a gift from North Carolina while he was in the hospital.  It's "Alphie" from "Thomas the Train" and Kenny will tell you, it came from "Uncle Jamie and Aunt Candace."

The boys are doing well.  More Photos.

Update - FRIDAY PM September 23 9:45PM

Kris, William and Kenny just left the house a little while ago.  Kenny was released today, and while he looks like he's been through some tough stuff, he's lookin' great.  We are thankful for your support and prayers.

I've put together a little video... see for yourself.  (On viewing the video the morning after, must note: Kristyn was in the hospital room with KENNY, not KEVIN... ha!)

Watch Video - If you have difficulty, right click on the link and download the 10 MB file to your hard drive.  It won't take long, and will be a better play-back

Again... THANKS!

Ken and Carolyn

Update - FRIDAY AM September 23

Kenny's doing better with the IV.  A skilled nurse managed to change the needle quickly last night.  The doctors think he should stay on the IV antibiotics for five days, so he may be released tomorrow, Saturday.  William is with Grandma Lorry until this afternoon.

It's difficult to tell whether the antibiotic is working... so we are still praying that it will clear up soon.

Again, thank you for standing with us.

Update - THURSDAY AM September 22

Kristyn just called after a rough night.  The doctors took an hour and a half to find a place on Kenny's body to plug in the IV.  He didn't settle down until 4:30AM.  We'll keep praying Kris, Ben and Kenny through this thing.  William's with Grandma Lorry today while Carolyn works and I prepare a sermon for Sunday.  Ben was there at the hospital last night... and has a long day as a PT with a full schedule of his own patients.

Thanks for your prayers and your support.

Update - WEDS September 21

Carolyn spoke with Kris tonight.  Kenny had difficulty keeping his IV connected.  He's a little guy who likes to get around... not tethered by a plastic tube to a bottle hanging off a tall standard, ready to crash to the floor.  But he survived the mid-night wake up sessions with people poking and sticking...

Thankfully Kristyn is by his bedside 24/7.  She has a cot in his hospital room.

Kristyn's community Mom's Group came by the house with a basket full of fun activities for a little boy.  William stayed with Carolyn in Placentia for the day, and will be with Mom (Grandma Lorry) on Thursday.  The infection is a tough one, a resistant strain that may persist.  We are praying for a quick and complete healing.

We'll continue to keep you posted.  Thanks for standing with us.

Dear family,

I want to alert you all to pray for our Kenny. He has had a nasty infection (kinda like his grandpa Ken).  It just won't go away, after several doctor visits. The antibiotics they were using haven’t responded to the infection and so it is now a staff infection that can only be treated intravenously. Of course to do that, he needed to be in the hospital. He will be there for a few days…not sure how long just yet. It is hard enough for him to have anyone touch his boo-boo, but then to have strangers in green suits with face masks and the works come only to check out the incision they had to make plus make sure his IV is still hooked, is a bit much for him. So, he needs prayer for healing and also being able to cope with all the stuff that goes along with being in the hospital.

Love to you all,

Carolyn

PS - Oh, and please pray for Ben & Kristyn, too, as it is hard for them to see Kenny go through all of this. We’ve got William for now, so Ben can go to work and then be at the hospital when he has a chance.
